Placement of Students
Mthashana TVET College is in a unique position as a rural college servicing predominantly needy communities. The existence of a college in this region serves as a glimmer of hope for many young people in the area by providing an important gateway to skills and employment.
Our world-class institution serves as the glimmer of hope to many young people residing in the rural and under development surrounding communities. Our hands on approach to training and development of young people, has significantly created employment, entrepreneurship and self-sufficient citizens of our country.
- The work placement office assists both Report 191 and NCV students to obtain the necessary practical experience they need. However, this does not relieve students of the responsibility for finding a suitable host company.
- In order for the placement office to place Report 191OR Level 4 students, they must have passed all their modules. This application does not apply for engineering students as they can be placed from N2 up to N6 for skills programs. Student must submit his/ her CV to the placement office.
- NCV level 4 students are also given the opportunity for experiential learning over a period of 5/10 days. All level 4 WBE be placed according to the program to be placed on that particular year.
- The college does not have a budget to pay a stipend to all students who are placed for the in-service training. Students receive a stipend if the college has been awarded funding from the Seta's.
- An agreement must be signed between the college, the student, the SETA and host employer. This agreement must outline the responsibilities of all parties.
