What is Information Technology?

The Information Technology certificate programme provides a structured programme for persons wishing to work as information technology support staff in public and private sector organisations.

The qualification aims to develop an integrated conceptual understanding, synthesis and application of information technology principles. It will also develop communication and project management skills, and provide students with skills in information technology support.

  • Introduction to Information Systems
  • Electronics
  • Introduction to Systems Development
  • Multimedia Basics

These modules are offered at each of the different NQF Levels of study in the National Certificate (Information Technology & Computer Science) qualification. 

VOCATIONAL ACTIVITIES TO GAIN ACCESS TO:

Embark on a trajectory leading to positions such as:

  • Network Developer
  • Business Analyst
  • IT Consultant/ Administrator
  • Data Capturers
MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
  • A year end school report for Grade 10, 11 or 12 or
  • An NQF Level 1 qualification, or
  • An approved bridging programme designed specific purpose to access NQF Level 2
